We want you to be well supported, so both of our mattresses are supportive by design.

If you are switching from a softer bed or have a slight or average body frame, our regular mattress is the right choice for you. For someone with an athletic body type or broader frame, or those longing for very active support, we recommend our firm mattress. Customers switching from a pillow-top mattress meanwhile, may consider adding one of our LATEX TOPPERS to a regular mattress for a deliciously plush feel with underlying ergonomic support.

Regardless of your firmness preference, all mattresses feature zoned supported with softer shoulder zones and firmer, active lumbar support. This magic is provided by softer and firmer versions of our patented innersprings in the respective sections of the mattress. Both mattresses feature the same symmetrical grid of these two types of innersprings; we adjust the mattress firmness by using different materials in resting layer.

Unlike many other mattresses these days, ours are dual-sided. Having the good stuff on both sides allows you to use both resting surfaces in both directions interchangeably and extends the life span of your mattress. For most even wear, please flip it quarterly, alternating between head-over-foot and side-over-side.

Somnium mattresses contain everything you need for ideal support and comfort – all the mattress needs in return is a flat, even surface to lie on: a slatted frame with gaps of 2” or less, a platform or even an adjustable base.
